Why is the Biodrier Biobot an Energy Efficient Hand Dryer?

Energy efficiency is a simple calculation between the dry speed and rated power. Conventional warm air hand dryers typically use a low powered (0.24-0.3kw) motor and a high energy consumption (1.8 to 2kw) heater element; they have a rated power over 2kw with 30 second plus dry times. The Biodrier Biobot has a high powered 0.65kw motor and a highly energy efficient heater element 0.25kw, the combination leads to a 75 to 85% energy and cost saving.

Is the Biodrier Biobot HD-BB08 a High Speed Hand Dryer?

Yes, it has a compressed airflow that travels at 64m/s. Not as fast as some but 2-3 times the airspeed of a conventional warm air hand dryer. We predict a realistic sub 20 second dry time.

How Quiet is the Biodrier Biobot Hand Dryer?

Manufacturer’s specification states 76 dBA based on noise chamber tests. Although we have not tested this unit in situ (with surfaces that amplify noise) it is clear that this will measure above 76 dBA in a realistic environment, having said that it is certainly quieter than many high speed hand dryers. However, there is an alternative hand dryer suitable for young children, Puff the Magic Dryer and a full section of quiet hand dryers suitable for children here.
